Hi all,

Our son Marcus is almost 4 and for the past year and a half he has not grown vertically and has gradually started to lose weight.  It should be mentioned that taken as a whole his FPIES symptoms are much better than they were 2 years ago, but the losing weight scares us.

Our next Boston Children's appointment is in a month and before we go we were wondering if this happened to anyone else's kids around the same age range and when/if they bounce back and grow/gain weight again.

Growing slows down a lot at that age - loosing weight I cannot speak too however. My oldest wore that same size clothes for two years at that age. His FPIES was stable but he had no new safes - he was stuck at 12 from 2 1/2 until 5. Once he got a safe meat he started growing again.

Are you working with a dietian to make sure your trials are for foods that maximize his protein and vitamin needs?

Is he getting blood tests for iron, B-12, D and other nutrients vital for brain development?

Good luck with the appts!
