My name is Angeliki. My son was diagnosed with FPIES at age of 4 months.He is now 3 years old and has never tasted a chocolate, a yogurt, a birthday cake or an ice cream like his "normal" friends do due to his allergy to all dairy products. Every time a kid brings a birthday cake in school in order to celebrate his/her birthday, the teacher takes my son away from the classroom so he cannot see the other kids eating their piece of cake. His questions afterwards kill me every single day. Unfortunately the doctors' knowledge here in Greece is quite eliminated as FPIES is not known as a food allergy. When my son went to the hospital for the very first time, the doctors couldn't understand what has happened to him and started reading the foreign medical literature. As a result they cannot provide you with sufficient information on how you can deal with this syndrome in terms of nutrition or even psychological support. We have been recommended by them to visit the hospital every 2 years in order my son to taste full milk waiting to see if he will tolerate it or not. We have already come in this process twice with no effect. Soya milk is also prohibited. I would appreciate it if you could give me any food and sweets recipes and cooking tips where the dairy products are excluded. Thank you in advance.
