RI Area Play Date

Our son Marcus loves other kids, but we are scared to get him together with others too often due to food exposure.  We live in Northern RI and would be willing to get together with any other RI, eastern CT, or southern MA families who share our plight and understand.  Feel free to reply.

We are in Warwick.  How old is your son?  My youngest (who has not been officially diagnosed fpies, but it is starting to be discussed) is almost 6 months and my older son is 3 this month.  We really aren't pros at the food exposure stuff yet, unfortunately, as we are just starting to navigate the world of fpies, but we are in the area!

I'd also love your advice on doctors in the area if you're able to share.  I saw in another post that you take Marcus to Boston -- is that because it's closer than Hasbro, or did you try Hasbro first?  I've not been satisfied with our care at Hasbro, but I am hoping it will improve with an official diagnosis and am curious if you have had any experience with them.

Hi Emily!

Marcus (who is diagonsed) is 3 and Thomas who isn't diagnosed but has a few of the symptoms will be 1 on Saturday.  Because our oldest definetly has FPIES, we have kept our youngest from any solid food that Marcus cannot eat.

Give us a call and we can chat about Hasbro vs Boston Childrens.  401-368-4846.  The long and short of it is that Hasbro didn't seem to have the resources we needed so we sought a place w/ more experience.

Mark & Julia

Thanks, Mark and Julia!  I look forward to hearing more about your experience.  Sounds like our boys are close in age, and it would be great to get to know you and your family.  We have family visiting from out of town for the week, but I will reach out soon.

Happy 4th!

-Emily
